About Us Why are we called Magnetic? The inspiration derived from the mechanics of how music is played. For example: turntables are magnetically driven, without this technology precise dope mixes could not be performed. Without magnets speakers would not exist, magnets are crucial to the operation of microphones and of course audio tape is magnetic too.  So we thank the magnet and dedicate this clothing company to you! Designs? Not all our designs are music related, they are however very much inspired by music in a big way.  We are passionate about what we do and offer clothes that represent this.  We have a constant range of limited edition lines to sustain label freshness, which will keep ourselves and the people that like what we do interested. Design for Us What sort of designs are we looking for? Here at Magnetic we are all about encouraging freedom of expression.  So get your thinking caps on, your crayons out and let your imagination spank that artwork!  No ideas are barred, no interests out of bounds, we are looking for a diverse range of artwork.  However, it is essential that your designs are original and they must be your own ideas. Anyone caught pinching will get rapped across the knuckles with a piece of rusty lead piping.   We are particularly into well-executed design and illustration, so if you think your work will fit with the Magnetic brand, then we would like to see it! What does the designer get out of this? We are looking for people who would like to get their designs out there, recognised and respected. If we use your design, you will receive 3 T-shirts of your design, screen printed onto high quality garments and a payment for your design negotiated before production. Be part of an urban underground scene: • When we say things like ‘exclusive’ and ‘limited edition’ we mean it.  Each individual design will be limited to a production run of 250 units maximum. (The idea being to keep a regular stock of fresh designs circulating). • Our website will be optimized to receive plenty of regular orders. • We will link to your website (if you have one) so people can check out your own portfolio. • We are going to invest in advertising and promotional activities and our adverts will feature our freshest designs. *(Some designs maybe particularly popular and could be reproduced using varying garments and ink colours to sustain the life of the design, this would be agreed with the designer concerned before hand). Add to your Portfolio: We hope producing a design for Magnetic will be an excellent addition to your portfolio Producing designs for us could lead to further work. How to submit your designs? Designs can be of any size up to A3. Let us know how your design would look on the garment (eg. printed centre of chest). Include details of the possible colours of T-shirt your design should be printed on. Please bear in mind that the designs will be screen printed, onto high quality T-shirts and hoodys/sweatshirts, therefore they should ideally incorporate no more than four solid colours and be easily separable. (Each shade within a design is classed as a colour, so if your design is black with 3 different shades of grey it willbe classed as a four colour design) The Design Process Using a Computer: Your designs should be created at the highest possible resolution, preferably as vectors using Adobe Illustrator/Freehand. However we can accept any of the file formats listed below. Once you're happy with your design, send a preview image of no more than 1 Mb in filesize. Please ensure any lines are no less than 0.25 point size Hand Drawn: If your design is hand-drawn please remember that our T-Shirts are screen printed, so be sure to use a solid ink or indelible marker pen. Once you're happy with your design, please scan it and email to us. If we like your Design:- we will contact you either by email or phone to let you know that we are interested in your work, we will then arrange for a copyright release form to be sent out to you. This will give us exclusive rights to the image that you have created. Thanks for your time, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Delivery We believe in no hidden extras, so delivery is free to anywhere in the UK.  Your items will be sent via first class delivery using the Royal Mail, however please allow up to two days for delivery. We can only despatch orders Mon-Fri so if you place an order on the weekend the item will not be sent until the following working day. If you are ordering from anywhere else in the world, please allow up to two weeks for delivery.. we are based in the UK.
